Located 300 km north of Fortaleza, Jericoacoara is one of the most international beaches in all Brazilian coast, bringing together a collection of many varied beauties into the National Park of Jericoacoara.

Jericoacoara or Jeri, as it is called colloquially by locals, is a beach located about 300 km from the capital state Fortaleza, close to the border with the state of Piaui - in the municipality of Gijoca (Jijoca) - Until 1985 it was a simple fishermen village without electricity, roads, telephone or television, lost in between immense white dunes and completely isolated from the rest of the world, until the tourism discover ed it and began to be visited.
In 1998 Jericoacora has been supplied with electricity and stated to develop fast but keeping his natural and rustic style. Mostly of the houses and structeres are builded in wood surranded by flowers and plants, the roads are still sand, the atmosphere is magical.......

Jijoca of Jericoacoara
Jericoacoara is located in an area of environmental preservation, since 2002 a National Park, between mobile huge dunes, lakes of crystalline water, coconut trees, beautiful beaches, with a calm sea and ocean wave, where the contact with the nature is intense, and the beauty of the landscapes impressive. The National Park of Jericoacoara has an area of 6850.00 hectares, and extends across the beach of Jericoacoara, including the municipalities and Jijoca Cruz, where is the famous beach of Preá, which represents 33% of its total area.
The beach of Jericoacoara has various activities and entertainments, and in recent years the sports of Windsurfing and Kitesurfing made this beach one of the most visited in Brazil for lovers of strong wind. Kitesurfing is practiced primarily in Prea beach, just 12 km from Jericoacoara. The more attractive tourist beach is a Pedra Furada ( symbol of the beach of Jericoacoara ) enormous stone arc, carved by wave and the time, situated in the rocky region of Jericoacoara.

In late afternoon, tourists are directed at the Sunset Dune to watch the end of another day. Jericoacoara is located in the far north coast of Ceara, so that and one of the few places in Brazil where you can enjoy the sun by the sea. The sunset dune is just beside the beach, and distinguishes itself from other dunes, because this practically alone in the desert dunes. From the top of the dune has a panoramic view of the village, the Serrote (next to the small mountain town, where the lighthouse is located in Jericoacoara) and the dunes.

Jericoacoara offers a very fun night and begins to animate itself in the bars, Restaurants and nigHt clubs late in the night. After a delicious dinner just follow the sound of the music to reach the party, mostly of them are organized on the beach. Who does not love the crazy nights can admire beautiful shooting stars on the sky of Jericoacoara. Especially when the moon is full the spectacle of the ocean illuminated by reflexes of the Moon renders the beach a postcard.
